Road Construction Projects
INDOT’s State Road 15 and 120 improvement project is underway. This project will impact traffic in Bristol until summer 2027. The project scope is depicted in the graphic below. The required utility relocation for the project begins mid-April 2025. Throughout the project timeline increased traffic congestion will be experienced on all state roads entering Bristol. We will provide updated information on this webpage as it becomes available. A quicker source of information will be on the Town’s phone app. Search for Our Town Bristol Indiana, download the app and sign in. It’s a free service and will provide you with the most recent and up to date construction information.

Town of Bristol Renovations Update
INDOT & NIPSCO Projects:
Progress continues on infrastructure improvements in downtown Bristol. NIPSCO is actively working on gas line relocation, and a second crew is expected to begin work late next week on Division Street, between the stoplight and the railroad tracks. During this phase, southbound traffic will be restricted in the construction zone, with northbound traffic only permitted.
In mid-September, the Town will begin work on the north side of the bridge to install a water main valve and connect the new sewer lift station in Congdon Park. This will require temporary bridge closures. The Town is coordinating closely with NIPSCO’s planned intersection work to minimize disruptions and reduce the total number of street and bridge closures in this area.
Town Project – Elkhart Street:
The water main project on Elkhart Street is wrapping up this week. Crews from Reith Riley will return shortly to begin asphalt paving, marking the next step in improving local roadways.
We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation as we work to enhance Bristol’s infrastructure. Please stay tuned for further updates and traffic advisories.
